How does the writer use language to create suspense in The Red RoomThe Red Room is about a mankind who is staying at an ancient house with ahaunted room, which he is expiration to spend the darkness in. He is unwillingto listen to the warnings of the trine elder occupants of the housewho are sure that the room is haunted. The story starts with the man verbalize and being very confident about staying in the room and how scarcely a tangible ghost will frighten him he is adage that nonhing canhurt him unless it is solid or touchable which is not what ghosts are equal. So he is also check outing that ghosts do not exist. He tries to backup this by utter that he has lived for cardinal and twenty years andnever seen a ghost however the old woman says that he has neverstayed in a house interchangeable this. This creates more suspense because thereader want to know what the house is like and why it is haunted andwhat the inhabitants have experienced to support their beliefs in aparanormal housemate.To make the story more mysterious none of the characters is named. Thethree old people are described, as though they are dropsical anddecaying so they look like ghosts in comparison to the narrator. Thenarrator thus wants to go to the room, so he asks the elderly peopleif they would guide him in that respect but they just ignore him. He sounds veryauthoritative and premium but also very arrogant and the old peopledo not answer him so he repeats the request a diminutive louder and theyjust tell him where he can find the candle and say he must go alone.Then the old woman says this wickedness of all nights which again createsmore tension because what did happen on this night?
